The PREVENTOMICS project has been presented at the 7th Central European Congress on Obesity (CECON) which took place in Kliczków, Poland, from 12th-14th September 2019.

During the event, Malgorzata Malczewska-Malec, project partner from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland), presented a lecture focused on genetic changes in obesity which includes a presentation of the PREVENTOMICS project.

The event aimed at discussing about the factors that affect the development of obesity and its consequences in health, also included a program with different course and practical workshops on obesity treatment for doctors and dietitians. 

The Jagiellonian University is the oldest highest institution in Poland where nearly 4 thousand academic staff conduct research and provide education to over 40 thousand students. The Department of Clinical Biochemistry within the Medical Faculty conducts research on the molecular pathogenesis of obesity, diabetes, hyperlipoproteinemia and on the interactions between genes and their functional products with nutrients.
