The PREVENTOMICS project has been presented at the webinar “Cafè Recerca” on the application of omic sciences to agri-food companies of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) and the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The event, celebrated on April 14th, was participated by project partners Eurecat and Carinsa .
Alberto Calleja Lázaro, Senior Project Manager at Carinsa and Josep Maria del Bas, director of Eurecat’s Nutrition and Health Unit and PREVENTOMICS’ technical supervisor, participated at the event to talk and discuss about omic sciences, nutrition and health.
Alberto Calleja Lázaro presented PREVENTOMICS as a key European project in the field of omic technologies applied to the health sector and personalised nutrition and explained the main work done to develop a biomarker-based system with the objective to send personalised advice on dietary and lifestyle habits and empower consumers to prevent diet-related diseases.
On the other hand, Josep Maria del Bas talked about the importance of personalised nutrition and explained the potential of omic disciplines in the health and nutrition sector. Josep Maria del Bas took this opportunity to mention other European projects related to personalised nutrition, health and omic sciences, such as MED4Youth or NESTORE.
The event also included a final discussion with all the speakers moderated by Ignasi Papell, Food Eurecat’s Food Industry Business Development Manager.
