Małgorzata Malczewska-Malec, chair of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry of the Jagiellonian University has participated at the Festival of Science and the Arts, celebrated in Kraków, Poland, from 16th – 18th of May 2019. This was the 19th edition of the event, which aims to familiarise the city’s residents with the academic achievements of Krakow’s universities and research institutions.
During the festival, project partner Małgorzata Malczewska-Malec delivered a presentation focused on the goals, achievements, objectives and the significance of the PREVENTOMICS project.
The Jagiellonian University is the oldest highest institution in Poland where nearly 4 thousand academic staff conduct research and provide education to over 40 thousand students. The Department of Clinical Biochemistry within the Medical Faculty, contributing to the project, conducts research on the molecular pathogenesis of obesity, diabetes, hyperlipoproteinemia and on the interactions between genes and their functional products with nutrients.
