From a behavioural science perspective, one reason why health messages are not making an impact is the habitual nature of human behaviour. A significant barrier to changing behaviour is people's preexisting personal and lifestyle habits that render them resistant to change.

In the PREVENTOMICS project, a behaviour change programme called Do-Omics was developed with the aim to break habits that play a role in an unhealthy lifestyle. Do-Omics was included in the project’s interventional studies in order to investigate it’s effectiveness. The tool aimed to help users receiving personalised nutrition plans to be better equipped when they find themselves in the process of making dietary changes and embracing healthier behaviours sustainably.
